Welcome
A very warm welcome to our website!
The Danbury Neighbourhood Plan is being created by local residents, community groups and businesses and will help us shape how the parish changes in the coming years.
Neighbourhood Plan Regulation 15
The Parish Council as the Qualifying Body has formally submitted the Danbury Neighbourhood Plan to Chelmsford City Council under Regulation 15 of the Town and Country Planning, England Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations (2012).
This effectively transfers the ownership of the Plan from the Danbury Parish Council to Chelmsford City Council.
The Plan will be publicised for further consultation for a period of 6 weeks during May and June, The exact dates are not known, but will be added when available,
After the consultation, it will be followed by an examination undertaken by an Independent Inspector.
Subject to the Plan being accepted as satisfactory and all of the relevant criteria complied with, we can hopefully expect a referendum early next year.

What is a Neighbourhood Plan?
It is an opportunity for local people to have a say in what to protect and where to build in their parish over the long term. The process is enshrined in law. Whilst land development is probably the main topic that we in Danbury are concerned with, the Neighbourhood Plan will also consider environmental issues, transport, leisure facilities and all aspects of village life.
Although it is not intended to be overly restrictive, a Neighbourhood Plan is a very comprehensive document. It sets out the policies and projects that will define how the parish will change in the coming years. This vision will be very important for the community, Chelmsford City Council, developers and many other interested parties.
